I just took my new Gen2 DB380NS to the range today. Ran about 50 rounds of mixed Perfecta 95gr FMJ and Freedom Munitions 100gr RNFP. It's an interesting little gun. It's very accurate and has more recoil than I was expecting from a 380. Since I primarily shoot a Springfield XD-45, it was anything I couldn't handle. The first 50 rounds were what I expected after reading the reviews. I had one FTE and and handful of FTF. I let my father in-law shoot a full mag, which I knew before I handed him the gun he wouldn't like the size of the DB380. He worships his Glock 17 and swears that a "mouse gun" is useless. Immediately he had issues, which I attributed to his arthritis, but I kept that to myself. I fixed the FTF double feed problem for him and he continued to finished firing with no more problems. All in all it's nice little gun. I'm hoping the recoil springs will loosen up as the gun is broken in. I'm going to keep a better count of any FTF's I experience. Hopefully after a hundred more rounds she won't have anymore hiccups. I like the gun but I still don't know if it's ready to be thrown in the mix as a carry gun or reside as a safe queen.

Glad you had a good experience. I love my gen 2 380. One suggestion I would make is don't use any +p ammo in it

I don't plan on it. Personally I don't feel comfortable using +p ammo in any of my guns. Gonna run a box of Federal HST 99gr JHP's next range session. Hopefully I'll have the time to run more than 50 rounds through the DB380.

Give a range report on the hst when u can

Can anyone tell me the reason why the recoil spring is so tough? Its like i need to be a heavy weight boxer to feed the gun.
thanks

It should loosen up after putting more rounds through it. I have 2 of these pistols and the one with the higher round count definitely has a looser recoil spring

There is no SAAMI spec for 380+p ammo, so if anyone is selling 380 ammo designated as +p, it could have who knows what type of powder and charge. Dangerous.

I cracked my slide with +p so from now on it’s factory ball for me

It's a great little pocket pistol. I love mine.

Yeah, I'm also not aware of any +P .380 "factory" ammo. If you get hold of some that says it is, it's probably someone's home loaded recipe & in that case I wouldn't use it.

If I used the DB380 or any 380, which I have but never would carry, I'd definitely use FMJ for the additional penetration. It's probably way better than a recently sharpened No. 2 pencil.
I know, I'm screwing with the 380 crowd for shits and giggles. Just don't hurt me, ok?

It’s all good.... but I do agree with you on the ammo choice. Nothing but ball for me. Good thing I stocked up on it because it’s hard to find and I refuse to pay $1.25 a round for it
