Title: Buying a new Ruger
Post by: Explorer3J on July 09, 2018, 02:39:26 AM
Well. Sold my vintage recurve and now have a few extra funds to purchase a new Ruger EC9S.
Can't beat the price. Around here in Vegas the going rate is about $260 OTD.
Picking it up sometime this week.
Been looking for a small carry gun that I can carry concealed. I currently conceal carry my FS9 OWB.
The FS9 just is too big to carry IWB to be some what comfortable for me.
I'll probably IWB appendix carry the EC9S.
Any input from anyone on the EC9? So far I've seen great reviews.

Found a Ruger LC9S Pro at a price too good to pass up. Wife is laying claim the the EC9S.
Gun, Blade-tech IWB holster and a Houge Grip Sleeve

Fits the EC9S holsters and uses same magazines. :main_thumbs_2up:

Carry in this holster now IWB about 4-430 position. Found AIWB uncomfortable for me.

I hear these Rugers are reliable. Good luck with your new pistol

Range Report:

Shooting Federal Champion 115 gr. FMJ RN Brass ammo.

Happy to report that the EC9S and LC9S Pro both functioned 100%.
Both with the factory mags and a Ruger 9 round extended mag. Mags interchanged with no issues.
At self defense ranges accurate enough to do serious damage.

I did note that the EC9S sights were sometimes hard to pick up quickly.
A couple of dabs of white nail polish might do the trick.

I have a LC9 daily carry. Compact and reliable-
I bet the EC9 will be the same!
