I received a message that Diamondback is coming out with a gen. 4 with a slide stop and sites that interchange with a glock...and a shorter reset

Looks pretty sweet! The slide stop seems sleek enough to not snag. Are the other dimensions the same?
-
It all looks interesting, but the number 1 complaint I hear about Glock is the lousy sights. So is being compatible with them just so that we can buy aftermarket sights from aftermarket Glock stock? Did we not like the sights that were on the DB9?
-
I will get this gen 4.
Was there a gen 3?

I never cared for them , I know some were changing with tru glow or painting. It just gives more options with all the glock replacements that are out there

Was there a gen 3? yes it fixed some issues that 1&2 seemed to have
-
How does one determine whether a three-pin DB9 is gen 2 or gen 3?
Update: Nevermind. I contacted Diamondback and they said: "Your firearm was manufactured in 12/2018. It is a Gen 3."
-
if I remember the first ones had two pins I think but I wouldn't put money on my memory

Yes gen 1 had two pins. Gen 2 and 3 have three pins.
What is the difference between gen 2 and gen 3?
-
I think that's when they splined the pins so they wouldn't move

Glock-sight compatibility for the gen 4 means we can install Glock OEM night sights or sights from independent sources. It's a huge feature.
-
Maybe I’ll buy one to carry instead of my LCP2. I always liked the feel of the DB.

That is a big plus theres a million co's making glock sights :main_thumbs_2up:

I'm pretty interested in this one. Hopefully it has good reviews and can become a replacement for my LCP :main_thumbs_2up:

"Wow, what an attractive price point. What is the street price going to be? If they are reliable, I'll have to pick one up! :main_thumbup_ncc:

Don't know what the street price might be. I like the new grip texture. Reminds me of the AM2, and the pinky extension looks good, too. Cool new DB9 logo. The sights may be different, too? With a slide lock and the new short reset it ought to be a winner. Good looking gun!

Anyone know when the Gen 4 will be available?
-
Their Facebook post said about a month.
-
The Glock that Glock should have made.
-
The REAL CONCEALABLE carry pistol that they all should have come up with
-
One month...check. That's pretty close to my birthday! I'll be talking to my pusher here in NC. I'm happy with my EDC but it couldn't hurt to have a pocket carry.
-
Is the faster reset the only "upgraded internals"?
-
Why a pinkie extension and not a plus one mag? Would have competed better with Shield, LC9s, PF9 that all have one as the alternate mag, better yet, shipping with only one mag, all you would have to include is a flat plate to meet the smaller footprint used for the marketing spec/weight/capacity. Kudos on the slide stop/catch, clearing a jam is much easier with one than without, and also on the improved sights. The rest looks primarily cosmetic.

I don't understand mag extensions on a pocket-carry pistol and I will remove any pinkie extensions.
The DB9 is the minimalist approach for those who make 9mm their minimum CCW caliber. I'll keep it as small as possible and carry a spare magazine.

I thought the same thing until I bought mine. I can't hold the gun firmly enough without it. My hand is bigger than the grip. With the extension I can just get enough of a purchase to feel secure when it launches from recoil. Besides, it is still completely covered in my pocket so why not take advantage of the available space?
