Title: Cleaning The Copper Fouling
Post by: Chris on November 28, 2013, 11:01:41 PM
I tried a new method to clean copper out of a barrel without running a ton of patches through it. I'm using KG12, which I thought was pretty slow to work, but it turns out it's awesome when given time to work!

Here's a Stock II 10mm polygonal barrel, lightly stuffed with shredded cotton balls using a cleaning rod to pack it.

The end of the barrel should be placed on a cotton patch or something that will reveal the liquid has reached the bottom.
Then just start adding drops until it's saturated.

And now we wait. In this case 1.5 hours or so. I was just guessing on how long, but that was plenty of time.
Might even work much quicker than that. Oh man, I just noticed I placed the wrong bottle for the pic! LOL

I pushed out the cotton, which had taken the form of mini tampons streaked with copper.
Look how clean it is! No follow-up bore polish either. I was impressed!
