Does anyone know if you can change out the Commercial buffertube with a milspec one? I have been reading other forums and seen people saying no you can"t and yes you can. Does anyone have any experince with this?

Yes, you can remove the receiver extension (aka buffer tube). The things to look for are whether or not the receiver end plate was peened into the lock ring/castle nut, like it's supposed to, or if DB took the shortcut and used loctite.
