trigger reset problems with my DB380
« on: December 26, 2016, 12:51:19 PM »
I've had my DB380 since 2011. It is (was) a serial number ZD . . .

I put 400+ rounds through it before it started to give me problems.

I sent it back to DB, and completely rebuilt it to the latest version back a few years ago.

When I got it back, I put a 100 rounds through it, but it was never reliable.

I tried to sell it, but nobody wanted it. It has been sitting in the safe for over a year.

I took it out to see if I could fix it myself, and noticed that the slide has been riding ON TOP of right side transfer bar at the rear of the frame rather than pushing the bar down to reset the trigger. It has worn the spur in the transfer bar down almost completely.

Yes, I will send it back for repair. I just wanted to give anyone with trigger reset problems a heads up.

How long did Diamondback have your gun?  I sent mine in two weeks ago for trigger reset problems.

It has been 4 weeks now since they received it. I called them 2 weeks ago to see if they had received it, and if they had a determination on it yet. They said that they would know in another week, which would have been last week. I haven't called them back.

I bought a Sig Sauer 238 Scorpion last week. As soon as I get the DB380 back, I am going to sell my DB380. I can't carry a gun that I can"t rely on.

I heard from Diamondback the other day.  They are unable to fix my gun.  They will send me a new one.  Perhaps it is cheaper to send me a new one rather than fixing mine.  They're going to send an extra mag with it, because the new gun must be sent to an FFL dealer for background check.

DB replaced my 380 a few years ago and sent the replacement (with new serial#) directly to my house.

Yes, but I did inform the local PD of the situation and gave them the new serial#. Never heard anything again.

I picked up my DB380 this afternoon from my local FFL.

Diamondback replaced the entire pistol with a brand new one. :main_good:

A special THANK YOU to Kimmy and crew at Diamondback!

I was planning on selling it as soon as I got it back, but I might just keep it and see if it is more reliable than my original one.

The original serial number was ZD . .  .  the new serial number is ZK . . .
So there should be quite a difference.

Cool. Love it when a DB plan comes together and I don't have to post links to all the Ruger LCP problems to make DB owners feel better about their purchases. Tiny guns, huge potential problems. And that's the name of the tiny micro gun game. At least some company's keep trying their best to make these tiny masterpieces a viable option. There would be lots of sad folks if they shut it down to make their life easier. That's not the DB style. I hope.

Amen and AMEN!
All micro pistols have their problems, but not all companies stand behind their products as well as Diamondback. Superior customer support and, IMHO, the DB380 has the best ergonomics and sights of the lot. Mine is reliable (ZExxxx) and a regular companion.

Diamondback (Kimmy) says they'll send my new DB9 this week.  Looking forward to getting a new one.

New DB9 showed up today. I noticed the recoil spring is substantially stiffer than the old gun that broke. Needs som breaking in I guess.

I shot my new DB9 today.  In 50 rounds, only one FTE.  Shot my DB380 also. Two FTE in 50 shots.  I'll shot the DB9 again next week.
