Mulling over a DB380
« on: September 19, 2017, 10:12:11 AM »
Hey guys, first post but lets cut to the chase.  I have been eyeing the DB380 for a couple years and have decided recently that im going to buy a 380 some time soon.   Im looking over what is offered and if you could purchase the DB380 or pay $20 dollars more for a Kahr cw380  would you still buy the DB380?

My main concern is sights (i like good sights) the rear sight looks replaceable but what about the front sight?  I know on this type of weapon its not necessary to have good sights but i would rather have them than not.

Is any type of DB380 better than another?  I see they have a DB380,  EX, SL, SS, FDE   for the most part are these functionally different or sight wise?

A little background  i buy Gunsmith specials and fix them up (for the most part)  im not unfamiliar with working on rifles or hand guns for that matter and have built a few Glock lowers but am far from a fan boy of the brand.

I would suggest you get a gen 2 diamondback 380  if you go that route. The gen 2 has the 3 screws in the frame. It is much better than gen 1 (2 screws)

broke it in,  2 light primer strikes,   and the 1st round would hang on the barrel when relasing the slide on a new mag.   Otherwise shot tula, and the rest of the stuff i fed it.  No Hollow points yet.

I got a decent amount of slide bite which has never happened before and i own 8 other handguns.  So my natural hold need to be adjusted.  Hoping to find something to help with that.

LCR custom was more impressive honestly.  i was shooting steel past 25 yards with it more consistently and its only failure was FTE with steel cased tula.

The db380 does seem picky about ammo.  I get many light strikes on some ammo too.

Winchester white box works well for me. As for the slide bite, maybe try shooting gloves
