Hello to all -

I wasn't at all familiar with Diamondback 'til i went to my LGS yesterday to trade for a pocketable .380.
Well, after wrestling with the notion of a (actually, more desirable) pocketable 9mm that I'd never heard of but finding it much more ergonomically "friendly" than any of the .380s in the price range, the clincher was that I already load 9mm and didn't really want to either set up for .380 or shoot only factory stuff.
So I brought it home.  :main_thumbs_2up:
My first action was to go online, read several favorable reviews, watch videos, read horror stories and wonder if I made a regrettable mistake.
Then I realized major problems seemed to be with 1st gens, determined I have a 2nd gen (SN YHXXXX) and took it to the backyard range for a get-acquainted session.
So far, only 52 rnds, mostly PMC 115FMJ but a few of my Lee 125gr cast loads and a few other FMJs I had laying around, with no failures.  :main_thumbup_ncc:
I carried it in my pants pocket all day and was delighted with it's unobtrusiveness.
I've read quite a few threads on the DB9 forum and must say the bunch here seem to be among the most supportive and helpful I've run across.
I look forward to an enjoyable, positive experience here and hope/intend to be a welcome addition to the ranks.

Shoot safe and play nice.

Reloader46, welcome to the snake pit.  Most of us really like our DB9, but some of us do get cranky once in a while.  Had my DB a couple of years and expect to carry it for as long as Cody can keep it working.  As he's kinda young, I expect that to be a long time.

I suggest reading the manual, stick with the factory recommendations and understand you just purchased the smallest 9mm pistol in the world.  Anytime you put that much bang in such a small package, all the parts get stressed to just under the breaking point.  In my opinion, the DB9 is not a range pistol meant to take hundreds of rounds a week, although Cody put one through a several thousand round torture test back a year or so ago, so he proved the gun can have significant staying power.

Anyway, glad you joined, please let us know how it goes with your DB9.  Oh, when in doubt, trust Chris and Cody.  They know more about DB9 ballistics than most of the rest of us put together.

Best, Bill
