Let's see your DB9 holsters
« on: May 23, 2014, 02:30:08 PM »
Pics would be good! I carry IWB appendix or cross draw. I have a Kydex that is way too tight and I can't pull the gun out easily, and a leather IWB which isn't fitted all that well and feels like it could pop like a fat zit when I bend over (wouldn't that be embarrassing...lol).

Let's see some recommendations.  :main_shades_smile:

I have a Laserlyte mounted on my DB9.

The first holster is a DeSantis V3.  I had to remove the stitching at the bottom for the laser.  $17 at Midway USA.

The second is a RKBA holster.  I emailed them and they made it for me, $35.

I like the DeSantis better.  I can get a better firing grip while holstered in my pocket.

The one I've been using the most lately.

From Elite Survival.

An OWB that is small and simple.

Retention gets a 10.

Concealment with the small DB9 a 10.

This holster really keeps the gun tight against your body.

The grip is actually a little better than what you would expect from the pic, but still requires that adjustment from the grab and go some expect.

I've got a N8-2 IWB I use a lot as well. But really am liking the OWB with the diminutive DB9.

Is that the Deep Cover Ultra Concealment Holster

or the Elite Deep Cover Ultra?

You removed the retention strap, and retention is still a 10?

TIA!

I just ordered one of these, I ordered it from their ebay page. I asked if it would work with the DB9 and the said yes, but let them know what gun I have when I order so they can make it a custom fit

Here's the holster in question, which is now fixed to work. Many Kydex holsters have screw adjustments with a rubber grommet between the fold. It allows you to tighten or loosen the grip around the trigger guard. This one is simply riveted together. The fix is simply a matter of using a heat gun and opening the gap with a screwdriver (in front of the trigger guard) to suit (just slide the blade to stretch it a bit and let it cool). I suppose you could also heat the plastic and shove a rag in the opening to stretch it out a bit, but that could stretch everything when you really just need to adjust the area around the trigger guard. That was the last time I'll buy a holster that has no adjustment!  :main_cry:

I have one of these I use for a 380. Very secure. Don't know about you guys, but my biggest fear is bending over and having the gun squirt out and hit the floor in Walmart. I know, I know, you should never bend over in a Walmart. LOL.

Using Techna Clip instead of holsters now.

Unfortunately they don't make a left-handed version for the DB9. You can switch the right-handed version around and it will work acceptably though.

I carry 2 so I can dual wield.
Joking!
I just like the balanced feeling.
