Oh Noooo P365
« on: January 31, 2018, 06:12:39 PM »
Yep, I just got suckered into buying the new Sig P365. By whom? Well, me of course! I'm weak when it comes to the latest and the greatest and this new Sig has me all inspired. I'll add it to my 9mm CCW collection of the DB9, Ruger LC9s, Glock 43, and now the Sig P365. This Sig is actually smaller than the Glock 43 and Ruger LC9s, but holds 10+1 as standard capacity. That's pretty good engineering if you axe me.

If you're interested in one, while they are on pre-order, Brownell's has them for $479 shipped with a coupon code of  L9Q. Not sure how long that will last.

Update..  I was scared away from the P365 and cancelled my Brownell's pre-order. Glad I did, too. The original release had a bunch of unhappy campers with battery, and other issues, and the re-release is said to be better but people are still having disappointments. I may eventually get one, but this time I'm happy to wait.

Yeah, 10 + 1 in a sub-compact has my interest.  I saw the hick-ups and decided, like  you, to wait it out.  I'll have one though in a few months.  :main_thumbup_ncc:

The latest issues seem to be broken firing pin (striker) tips. Sig is saying it's a bad batch of MIM causing them to be brittle. Others are blaming excessive primer wipe since the striker isn't retracting fast enough. Some owners are buying SS machined replacement strikers. 100 bucks!  :main_ohmy: The other "latest" issue is the trigger return spring becoming disconnected. These issues don't have quick field fixes. Shame. I'll continue to wait, but if it weren't for the size and capacity I wouldn't even pay anymore attention to it.

Not the first time Sig's been penalized for introducing a new gun and having problems.  :Main_thumbdown2:

I'm not a Sig fan either, but I'd sure like that capacity.  Any chance we will see a DB9 with 10+1? :main_smiley_ncc:

DB's AM2 in its smallest configuration is 10+1. It's about the same length as the Glock 43, but a tad wider and taller. I haven't compared it to the P365 as I still haven't seen one in the wild. Here's a couple of poor pics.  :main_sad_ncc:

Wow, thanks for the pics.  I'll have to look into the DB9.  I'm still learning about DB.  :main_smiley_ncc:
