Can DB9/Gen4 grip be replaced
« on: August 12, 2019, 05:17:32 PM »
Let's say there was some damage to the grip/frame of your DB9 Gen4. I see that the underside of the dust cover has a "window" cut-out of the plastic grip-frame.....with a metal panel beneath it to show the serial number. If ( for any reason....damage to frame....improper modding/gunsmithing to the frame)...if that frame gets damaged....can one get a new frame and transfer all the internal metal and steel functional components to the new frame? Thanks.

I don't have a Gen 4 yet, but it doesn't appear to be a serialized chassis. There's nothing about the chassis that extends into the dust cover.

My grip frame was replaced and the internal parts from my original frame were installed in the new grip frame.  A new serial number was also provided.
