High hopes for DB10 ELB
« on: February 27, 2019, 12:55:35 PM »
New to the family of Diamondback firearms. Order and purchased DB10 ELB. Picked up the firearm yesterday. It will be outfitted with a warren tactical scope mount. Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50 with T1 turrets. Fast fire 3 red dot at 45 can’t.  Magpul PRS stock. Harris bipod. Hoping for under MOA accuracy with match ammo. I will begin the barrel break in this weekend. I am moving from a Rem 700 VSSF in .308. More on weapon to come after setup and break in.

I have a magpul PRS stock to add to rifle. Does anyone have a recommendation on buffer and spring for a full length tube?

Update. Made it to the range yesterday. Worked my way through the first 25 rounds by shooting and then bore cleaning after ever shot. Then made it through (4) 10 round strings of 10 shots and then bore cleaning. Needless to say that took a long time. I will post picks of the four 10 shot groups. Used federal 150 and 180 SP from Walmart. A couple of things to note. For starters the trigger is way to heavy for what I am trying to accomplish. So after shooting today I came home and swapped it out for my JP 3.5 trigger. I also swapped to my CTR with cheek rest foam until I can get the PRS on it. Also found the trigger pins were trying to creep out the gun. Recoil with break was awesome. I could see bullet hit on target at 100 yards.

Break in done. Groups did not improve with trigger. I will try match ammo next weekend.

Well made it back out to the range with some 175 Federal GM and 168 Hornady ELD. I think I will be working with168 grain for this rifle. Posting pics. I have a box of 168 SMKs and IMR 4895 to work up a load with. Any feed back would be nice. I think the rifle has got more in her just wasn't my best shooting.

No wind today huh?  :main_winkani_ncc:

That's an impressive group.  Get the hold right and you will have a super tight grouping!  :main_megacool_ncc:

Back at it again. She is pretty picky. 168 SMK with 40.5 IMR 4895 M210 primer with Winchester brass at 2.015. was the best. OAL was 2.809.

Went and bought (100) 168 ELD bullets. I will try them next sense the factory loaded worked so well.

Your picture of the pins walking out made me happy that I got anti-walk pins when I switched my trigger out.
