2-pin? 3-pin?

I have a Gen 2 DB380 ZExxxx with only 2-pins above the trigger. The newest DB380s show 3-pins and I've read that some 2-pin owners send theirs back to the factory for the fix/mod. Is this a necessary mod? Should I send mine back? What are the advantages?

The upgraded trigger (3 screw) should have a shorter stroke as compared to the 2 screw.

So is anything else improved or corrected (other than a shorter stroke)? Is there a hidden engineering problem I need to address?
So far, my Gen 2 has fuctioned just fine and I'm not unhappy with the length of trigger pull. I guess I'm just concerned that "something is just waiting to break" and this would be a pre-emptive fix.

My position on that would be if it isn’t broken don’t fix it. I had a 2 screw Gen 1 and it ran well. I just didn’t like the long pull/ break

Thanks for your advice, mr38acp. I respect your opinions you have posted on this forum through the years. I'll leave well enough alone. Summer is approaching, so the DB380 will emerge from winter hibranation and yet again enter my concealed rotation. Shoot it a little, carry it alot.

Glad to be of help. I think those DB 380s are the most concealable of all. And they shoot rather well!

I think there were some reports of the pins walking out on the early 2 pin models.  But if you don’t have that issue, then it should be good to go.
