.223vs 5.56 NATO
« on: November 10, 2020, 06:40:56 AM »
So, when you start talking about both the rounds. There is one notable thing. These rounds are interchangeable. The size of the .223 rounds is almost the same as the 5.56 mm rounds. The .223 Remington chambers consist of a shorter leade. This leade contributes to increased accuracy. It is because of the increased pressure and decreased velocity. You have to note that all the AR 15 build are not the same. Each one has its unique differences. Conduct a discussion with the gunsmith and acquire potential replacements. Gaining important insights on ammo is sure to help you

I'm not sure what the OP is really trying to say. Are you saying that 223 is more accurate, or slower velocity, or both?

If I am going hunting for deer lets say, then ok, maybe I'm picky enough to get a good 223, wooden stocked rifle.  If I'm worried about defense, I'm still going 556.  The distances are within 100Yds and the 1/4 MOA difference is immaterial.  With a 556 barrel you can use both.  Win win...
