Wow. 'Dem Germans can build some quality looking rifles. Haven't shot it yet since range is still closed for lead remediation.

Installed a 10-40x56 Athlon scope. Same as used on my CZ457 AT-ONE. I like to be up close and personal.  :main_thumbs_2up:

Finally was sober enough to go to the range. The scope position for proper eye relief was unimpressive. Needs to be moved back a couple inches, but then the bolt won't work. It'll hit the windage adjustment knob. Dammit. I'll have to either use taller scope rings to clear the knob, or find a bolt handle that has less throw. Anshutz doesn't have a bunch of options for that kinda thing, so I'm fawked. Anschutz is supposed to be German brilliance, but I'm thinking it's kind of on the lame scale of German shit. I was born in Germany to American parents, so that makes it suck even more. Parents were WW2 military survivors, but that doesn't improve my German guns. Sucks. Is this worthy of a lawsuit?

Yeah, I believe that German products are over hyped by a lot of people, both foreign & domestic, as being uber quality but when the rubber meets the road you get to realize that their "pretty" designs leave you wanting when it comes to putting what they have on paper into a real product.

Don't mean any offense since you were born there but the world seems compelled to put them on a pedestal when it comes to design & manufacturing & I don't believe they're any better than any other industrialized country when it comes to that.
