Hate to hear you had an issue with the AM2. Here's some things to check/do:
Take the striker out and apart for a cleaning and also clean the striker channel really well.
When reassembled, push down the slide's safety plunger and see how far the striker pin protrudes.
If all looks good and it happens again, first check that it's in battery before cocking to restrike.
When placing the barrel in the slide and it locks into place without more than a hair of play, then that should be good.
Before replacing the striker, place a bullet in the barrel and insert it into the slide as if in battery. There should be no free-play between the bullet casing and the breech face.
I'd first see if DB will send you another striker spring before going thru too much, especially if yours looks like the pics attached.
