First outing with the AM2 - Light Primer Strikes?
« on: July 28, 2019, 08:46:33 PM »
First time shooting the AM2 today.  I split a 100ct box of WWB between the AM2 and a Beretta APX Carry.  Both shot really well.  The only issue Was 2 failures to fire due to light primer strikes from the AM2.  They happened on the 2nd & 3rd magazines.  Both times I recocked the striker by doing a press check and they went off on the second strike.  Didn’t happen again.  Is this something I should be concerned about?  Anyone else have this issue or heard of it with the AM2 before?  Break in period maybe?  I did do a about 200 dry fires with a snap cap before today.

On another note these two guns are pretty darn close in size & minus the two FTFs, they were both quite impressive.  But the AM2 takes the cake with 13rds vs 7.  Oh, and it’s almost half the price!

Hate to hear you had an issue with the AM2. Here's some things to check/do:

Take the striker out and apart for a cleaning and also clean the striker channel really well.
When reassembled, push down the slide's safety plunger and see how far the striker pin protrudes.
If all looks good and it happens again, first check that it's in battery before cocking to restrike.
When placing the barrel in the slide and it locks into place without more than a hair of play, then that should be good.
Before replacing the striker, place a bullet in the barrel and insert it into the slide as if in battery. There should be no free-play between the bullet casing and the breech face.
I'd first see if DB will send you another striker spring before going thru too much, especially if yours looks like the pics attached.

I'll attach pics to compare to yours.

That's all I got. Good luck.  :main_smiley_ncc:
