Your Favorite 7.62x39 Ammo?
« on: June 21, 2020, 03:18:24 PM »
Depends. If I'm going to a range with steel targets, I can't use bimetal bullets. So for that I carry Geco ammo. Pricier, of course, being brass and copper jacketed. For all else I like the Tulammo 8m3. There's now another version of that from Red Army Standard called 8V3 HPBT 124 Grain Fragmenting Hollow Point.

What's your go-to 7.62x39 ammo, and are you shooting from an AK47 or variant, or with an AR platform? I'm AR all the way.

I had an SKS for a number of years with cases of Norinco steal case 7.62 ammo.  I have to say, it ran and ran and never failed me but was limited with iron sights.  I sold it to my brother-in-law when I got my first AR15 (DB15).  It was fun but I'm glad I made the jump.
